Beach description
The coastline of Baia do Sancho is encircled by majestic cliffs, captivating visitors not only with its scenic views but also with the most unusual descent to the shore. From the rocky cliff, a natural viewing platform at a height of 30 meters, you can revel in the breathtaking panorama of a wide sandy expanse nestled at the base of these towering rocks. This vantage point is also the premier location to observe dolphins as they leap from the water near the shore.
- To access the beach itself, one must navigate a steep stone staircase and traverse a narrow tunnel carved through the cliffs that leads to the shore. There are only three such staircases providing access to the beach.
- The park's staff diligently ensures that visitors proceed one at a time due to the path's incredibly narrow confines, which cannot accommodate two people side by side.
- Considering the challenging descent to the beach, it is advisable to wear comfortable footwear and ensure good physical condition before embarking on this adventure.
- For those seeking a more leisurely route, renting a boat on the main island of Noronha to reach the bay by sea is a recommended alternative.
The shore is blanketed with fine, light golden sand, while the waters are distinguished by their striking blue and emerald hues and remarkable clarity, allowing visibility up to 50 meters horizontally. Snorkeling is a favored pastime at this beach, offering a chance to marvel at an array of corals and sea turtles. To protect the turtles during their spawning season, the beach is off-limits from 6 PM to 6 AM from January to July.

Infrastructure
Searching for signs of civilization on this beach, with its paradise landscapes, is utterly futile. Given the challenging descent, it's advisable to travel light. However, the comforts of civilization are accessible on the main island of the archipelago. This is the ideal place to secure accommodation. A plethora of lodging options is available, ranging from budget-friendly hostels to cozy family-run mini-hotels.
Staying in the central area of Vila dos Remedios is recommended, as it is the hub of most restaurants and hotels. For instance, Pousada Maravilha, situated merely 2 km from the beach, or Dolphin Hotel, located 2.7 kilometers from the shoreline. Interestingly, the quality of local hotels is denoted not by stars, but by dolphins, ranging from 1 to 3.
