Jericoacoara beach
In order not to pronounce a long name locals call this beach simply “Jerry”. This is an idyllic place where travelers usually stay even longer than planned. The world you fall into when you come to Jerry is terribly far from the frenzied rhythm of the modern world, car sirens and traffic jams. Here everything happens slowly and in pleasure - no stress, rush or fuss. Only relaxation, only the ocean!

Beach description
It's located on the northeast coast of Brazil in the small seaside village of the same name in the state of Ceara. It's hard to get to Jerry because there aren't any roads in the village at all – it's built on sand. They probably haven't heard about asphalt here... The route to this place looks like this:
- A bus departs from Fortaleza, which goes about 5 hours on asphalt roads.
- When the track ends, everyone is unloaded into the truck and trip continues on sand for 2 hours.
Yeah, for some people it's gonna seem exhausting, but not for romantics and dreamers. The point is that the truck travels along the shore, which means that everyone sitting in the back of the truck can enjoy the amazing expanse and clear starry sky, the reflection of which gets on the snow-white sand. During this trip you'll have time to make more than one wish, watching a shooting star!
The beach amazes with a variety of colours – there is a wide grey beach, and a golden dune that surrounds it, and snow-white sandy areas, and even a rocky coast. From July to December, the winds are stable and strong, making it attractive for lovers of surfing and kitesurfing. The ocean on this area is turbulent – with strong waves, but shallow water, so it is unlikely to get pleasure from swimming here, but couples with children will feel calm and comfortable. Usually, there aren't many people on Jerry and it's mostly a category of tourists who prefer active recreation.
When is the best time to go?
The best time to visit Brazil – is in spring and autumn. During this period, mild and dry weather reigns here. In winter, there is heat and heavy rains. And in the summer (from June to August) the lowest temperatures are recorded in the country.

Infrastructure
Is underdeveloped and limited to original kiosks with fruits and juices, as well as beach bars in the form of shebangs. But this is the flavor of Jerry - no pathos in the form of fashionable restaurants and "star" hotels: you will see the ordinary life of ordinary Brazilians ...
Latin music spreads on the beach. Sometimes you can see here locals who practice capoeira. Be sure to try freshly squeezed juice at a kiosk located right on the beach. It is made here from pineapple, guava, acerola and passion fruit. Cocktail trolleys move on the sand, you can buy there caipirinha and other fruit cocktails. Freshly baked cakes made of chocolate, coconut, carrots are sold right in the apartment building, whose windows overlook the beach.
The beach provides opportunities for regular sport, as well as kite- and windsurfing, sailing. In the village you can rent a horse, which will cost about 30 r/h, and visit Pedra Furada (Arched rocks), nearby hills, dry mangroves or just gallop along the beach.

- Since 1984, the area around Jericoacoara has been declared a conservation area. Before, there were no roads, no electricity, no telephones, no televisions, no newspapers, and even money was rarely used! In 2002, this place was given the status of a national park. You can imagine what ecology is here! Perhaps you have not breathed such clean air in your entire life.
- You will have to get to the beach from the village on foot, so use comfortable shoes. In addition, the beach has rocky areas, so barefoot is not recommended.
- There are no street lamps in Jeri (remember that recently there was not even electricity), so make sure you always have a small flashlight with you.
- Every evening, people gather on the Por do Sol dune to watch the sunset over the ocean. The highlight is that the opportunity to watch the ocean sunset is a rarity in Brazil, since very few of the Brazilian coast faces west.
