Vermelha beach

Vermelha Beach or "Red Beach" has a length of about 200 m and is one of the smallest and most comfortable beach areas of Rio de Janeiro. It is located in the Urek district on the shores of Guanabara Bay. Unlike other beaches, there is always calm water, without big waves and strong winds. Often it is cloudy. Sand covering Vermelha Beach has a reddish yellow hue and becomes slightly pinkish under the rays of the setting or rising sun.

On the Vermelha beach there is a bar and restaurant, several shops, kiosks selling coconut water and souvenirs. While relaxing on the beach, visitors can use umbrellas and sun loungers.
