Grumari beach

The territory of the beach and the entire municipal park as a whole refers to the Rio de Janeiro region. Although the place is famous, it is not crowded, because there are no local residents here. The ocean is not separated from the large-scale mountainous terrain by a wide sand cover, with darker shades than on the other beaches of Brazil, and stormy thickets of salt marsh.

Beach description

In the upper part of the beach, there is open access for nudists. In general, there are few tourists in the resort area, except on weekends. Buses do not go to the beach, so the most acceptable transport for getting the leisure area is a taxi. Waves can be quit strong, surfers are common here, but professional athletes prefer other, more adapted beaches for extreme sportsmen.

There are several restaurants and cafes, serving delicious national dishes, a lifeguard service and an ecological path for exciting hiking. It's better to take this path, especially on weekends, with a guide or with friends, because walking may not be safe at all. The place was loved by connoisseurs of a quit family vacation at the weekends but also by lovers of romance because on the beach you can organize a beautiful and impressive wedding ceremony: local landscapes are more suitable than any other for such events.

When is the best time to go?
