Maragogi beach

Maragogi Beach is a popular beach located in the eponymous resort town on the northern edge of the Coral coast of Alagoas, which represents the busiest resort in northeast Brazil. It got the name from the name of the river flowing in this region. The beach is located in a wide tropical lagoon with coral reefs, which attracts many connoisseurs of scuba diving.

Beach description

The long sandy coast of Maragoji Beach surrounded by coconut palms allows you to find a vacation spot for every taste - from more busy corners to oases of silence and solitude near the rocks. This beach is also especially attractive for vacationers and a number of its natural features, including:

  • very clear and calm waters of a blue-green hue;
  • lack of strong waves;
  • very clean fine white sand on the shore;
  • picturesque coral reefs "Galley", so named in memory of past shipwrecks that took place here

Branched corals and numerous colorful fish, combined with other ideal conditions for swimming, make snorkeling here a particularly popular entertainment, suitable even for beginners. But when bathing it is still better to use rubber slippers, and you should also beware of jellyfish, which are sometimes found in the local waters. It is warmest here in January, the coolest and rainy in July.

On the southern edge of the beach you can find the wildest stretches of the coast with majestic 20-meter sea cliffs. Nevertheless, the main attraction of these places is the vast natural pools formed by reefs and representing an impressive sight at low tide. This is where you can watch the crowds of vacationers.
