Arabatskaya Strelka beach

Arabatskaya Strelka is a many-kilometer-long deserted beach on the coast of the Sea of Azov, which is very popular among lovers of wild relaxation and kitesurfing. It is a washed spit about 2 km wide, covered with sand and small cockleshell. The sea in the area of Arabatskaya Strelka is shallow, the water is clear and warm. Direct entry into the sea with a gradual transition to depth and a sandy bottom make the beach acceptable for families with small children.

Beach description

It is most convenient to get to the Arabatskaya Strelka by car, as regular buses run only to the village of Kamenskoye, and from there it will still be necessary to walk about 3 km by foot. The territory of the beach area is not equipped and has no natural shade, so you should worry about a comfortable rest yourself, taking with you food and water, a parasol and a tent. An alternative option to settle comfortably will be the private sector and hotels located in neighboring villages.

Staying at the Arabatskaya Strelka is a great opportunity to combine a beach holiday with swimming in a hot spring or a salt lake, as well as get acquainted with local attractions, such as the Arabat fortress, which is the remains of a medieval defensive structure surrounded by a moat.

When is the best time to go?

Weather conditions in Crimea depend on the place where you will rest: while on the south coast it is relatively warm and humid, then in other places it can be cooler and drier. The period between late May and the first half of July inclusive is considered the ideal time for a trip when the air and sea have already warmed up (23-25 degrees), but the real heat has not yet come. If you prefer warmer weather, pick out the second half of July or early August.
