Tatarka beach

Tatarka is one of the best beaches of eastern Crimea, which is famous with length of its coastline (25 kilometers) covered by fine cockleshell, warm shallow sea and the absence of crowds of tourists even in the peak of the summer season. Located in the Tatarskaya bay which owes its name, and is protected from strong waves and currents from all sides.

Beach description

Sea of Azov, washing the beach, is warm and shallow, and is perfect for families with small children. Among disadvantages – lack of nicessary infrastructure and relative remoteness from the Shchelkino village, which is more than compensated by the beauty of the places and opportunity to enjoy a quiet relaxing vacation in the bosom of the wild.

The most part of the beach is occupied by tourists with tents, a small area behind the Lavender recreation base is traditionally chosen by nudists (this is one of the oldest naturist beaches in Crimea), and a pine park is planted along the coast closer to the city. Several fashionable beach bars are also located here, where in evenings youth discos are held. Main attractions on Tatarka - kiting, windsurfing, beach volleyball, sea fishing. You can get to the beach from Shchelkino village walking or by personal car, parking is free and space for tent as well.

When is the best time to go?

Weather conditions in Crimea depend on the place where you will rest: while on the south coast it is relatively warm and humid, then in other places it can be cooler and drier. The period between late May and the first half of July inclusive is considered the ideal time for a trip when the air and sea have already warmed up (23-25 degrees), but the real heat has not yet come. If you prefer warmer weather, pick out the second half of July or early August.
