Khrustalny beach

Khrustalny beach is located in the central part of Sevastopol, not far from Artillery Bay. It consists of flat concrete plats, stretching for several hundreds of meters. There is no sand and pebble – they are washed during spring and winter storms. Entry to the sea is rough - th depth begins from 2-2.5 meters, small parts are decent.

Khrustalny beach has the following advantages:

1. beautiful panoramas - from the shore you can see Monument to the sunked ships, luxury hotels and ancient palaces;
2. clear and a little cool water has saturated-blue color;
3. quiet and calm atmosphere - there is no beach tourists, annoying merchants, noisy bars.

Due to the big depth and waves, the beach is suitable for experienced swimmers. From its plates it is convenient to jump into the water. For the safety of tourists 30 meters from the shore there are firing strikes, and on the “Khrustalny” itself there is a rescue tower. There are excellent conditions for sunbathing, friendly meeting, tasting foamy drinks and sea foods. Not far from here, you can rent a jet ski, boat or catamaran, book a sea or walking tour. For family vacation, you better find other place.

Khrustalny is not crowded place (according to Sevastopol measures). Because of absence of sand and pebble, it is ignored by tourists. Locals and guests searching for quietness and calmness relax here. The beach is regularly checked by the sanitary and epidemiological service and periodically closed for swimming (if harmful bacteria are detected). Which further reduces the total number of vacationers.

Interesting fact: the beach appeared in the 50s of the XX century. For its construction, the concrete was used, since only this material can resist the destructive power of Sevastopol storms.

When is the best time to go?

• Late May and Early June: These times offer a good balance between pleasant weather and fewer tourists. The sea might be a bit cooler, but the beaches are less crowded, making it a great time for those looking for a more relaxed atmosphere.
