Vorontsov's Baths beach

A popular beach on the banks of Alupka. The name was given due to the proximity of Vorontsov Park, whose alleys lead directly to the resting place. Small, so at peak season it is filled to capacity. Admission is free, as is the rear park. In the heat, it is pleasant to hide in the shade of trees, feed squirrels from the hands.

Beach description

Alupka is a small town with several beaches, all of which are pebble. Pebbles are not very large, but not comfortable enough to sunbathe right on it, spreading a towel. Fortunately, on the shore you can rent a deck chair and sun loungers.

The beach area is only 100 meters wide and about 6 meters wide. The back is covered by a concrete wall, and on both sides the cultural zone is limited to two breakwaters. The same breakwater divides the beach into two parts. Entering the water, although gentle, but not very convenient, there are a lot of large stones and boulders. Depth starts pretty close.

Despite some difficulties for swimming, they go to the Vorontsov beach with their children. For them there is a special zone, fenced from the sea by huge boulders. The shallow lagoon also has a rocky bottom, but the water warms up quickly, the pool is supplied little by cold influx from the sea, strong waves do not break through here.

You can sit with a deck chair not only by the water, but also a little higher, on the promenade. For this, special zones are reserved. The promenade is also full of small shops and shops selling ice cream, drinks and souvenirs. There are bars and cafes where you can sit out the heat, have a cold drink, and have a bite to eat.

Solitude lovers can go away from the Central beach, but beyond the breakwaters on the left and right, an already wild zone begins. Vorontsov baths are provided with all amenities:

  1. Parasols and lounges
  2. Dressing rooms, showers.
  3. Free toilet.
  4. Rent of beach equipment.
  5. Lovers of active fun ride on the "bananas" and catamarans.
  6. Stores and kiosks.

For serious entertainment you need to go to neighboring Yalta. In Alupka, quiet and calm. People come here to take a break from the hustle, breathe in the mountain air, gain strength under the gentle sun in the warm sea. The main pride of Alupka is the health resorts that began to work here more than 100 years ago.

When is the best time to go?

Weather conditions in Crimea depend on the place where you will rest: while on the south coast it is relatively warm and humid, then in other places it can be cooler and drier. The period between late May and the first half of July inclusive is considered the ideal time for a trip when the air and sea have already warmed up (23-25 degrees), but the real heat has not yet come. If you prefer warmer weather, pick out the second half of July or early August.

Infrastructure

It was thanks to the spa facilities that Alupka's infrastructure began to develop. Pine air and the aroma of park plants complemented by the sea breeze create a unique atmosphere of the city.

Those traveling to Alupka with children should be aware that the whole city consists of descents, climbs. This applies especially to the upper part of the city. In a company with a toddler or elderly parents, it is better to rent housing in another area. Walking to the sea and back every day on steep slides will be tiring.

Tourists settle in sanatoriums and boarding houses, stay in mini-hotels or accept offers from owners in the private sector. The latter option often has as an additional bonus a cozy courtyard with southern vegetation, exotic palm trees, figs and peach trees. If you arrive at the right time, you may even be lucky to taste the fruits from them. Persimmon, for example, will only ripen in winter.

Most of the hotels are middle class. There are many guest houses and offers in the private sector, where cottages for large groups are popular.

The infrastructure around the Vorontsov baths may not seem active enough. There are no noisy bars and discos in the town. The capital resident Alupka generally seem like a village or village. But many people come here just for this measured life, under the protection of calm Ai-Petri, in the calming lush greenery, to the healing air.

There is no airport or train station in the city. Tourists get by with buses, trolleybuses and taxis plying between cities. In Alupka itself, you can take advantage of the plowing expanses of the city in a circle with a single ring bus. And you can not use it. For an experienced pedestrian, an hour and a half from one end of the village to the other is not a hook.

Young and hardy participate in bicycle excursions along the foothills of Ai-Petri and other routes.

Thrifty tourists visit cafeterias and small cafes. Restaurants with Russian, Ukrainian cuisine are also presented. Crimean Tatar institutions, Italian and European menus are in demand. No one leaves without tasting red mullet, zander or mackerel. Chebureks, who are abundant in street stalls and eateries, enjoy constant success.
