Golyboi Zaliv beach

Golyboi Zaliv beach is located in one of the most beautiful and popular resort towns of the Crimean peninsula, Koktebel. Locals also call this bay as Koktebel Bay. This long crescent-shaped beach stretches from Cape Malchin to Cape Toprak Kaya. The latter is also called the "Chameleon" because of its unique rock mineral composition. Depending on the position of the sun, the cape shimmers with different colors, from gray-blue to bright purple.

Beach description

Golyboi Zaliv is a small-pebble beach with a pleasant light gray tint. The water entry is smooth and shallow-watered. The Black Sea in this part of the peninsula has a beautiful azure hue. The water is crystal clear. The infrastructure of the beach is provided by the guesthouse located nearby. There are changing cabins, fresh-water showers and toilets on the beach. You can ride a catamaran, a banana, play beach volleyball or table tennis. This place is popular among young people and families with children.

This beach is truly romantic and fateful. It was close to the beach of Golyboi Zaliv that Marina Tsvetaeva met her future husband, and Countess Vorontsova presented Pushkin with a ring with a carnelian found in the Crimean Kara-Dag. By the way, this gem can still be found on the beaches of Golyboi Zaliv.

When is the best time to go?

Weather conditions in Crimea depend on the place where you will rest: while on the south coast it is relatively warm and humid, then in other places it can be cooler and drier. The period between late May and the first half of July inclusive is considered the ideal time for a trip when the air and sea have already warmed up (23-25 degrees), but the real heat has not yet come. If you prefer warmer weather, pick out the second half of July or early August.
