Beach description

Horabadhoo Island is an exclusive retreat for a tranquil vacation, typically frequented by millionaires. Its compact size - merely 200 by 800 meters - ensures an intimate experience. The island is encircled by narrow sandy beaches and a serene lagoon. The absence of waves is largely due to artificial protective barriers that double as buoys, marking the boundary beyond which swimming is not recommended.

The resort is a mere 20-minute plane ride from Malé International Airport. By Maldivian standards, this proximity is remarkably convenient, as it's situated on an adjacent atoll. The entire island is the domain of a single establishment - the Royal Island Resort. The resort's villas are strategically dispersed across the island, ensuring that each family enjoys a private segment of the beach, thus guaranteeing utmost privacy for its guests.

The pristine white beaches of Horabadhoo are meticulously maintained, boasting soft, fine sand. These beaches are ideal for swimming and sunbathing, with a gentle, sloping entry into the sea that is free from rocks and sharp coral. The local scenery is as breathtaking in person as it is in photographs.

Optimal Timing for Your Visit

The Maldives, with its idyllic beaches and crystal-clear waters, is a year-round destination, but the best time to visit for a beach vacation is during the dry season, which runs from November to April. This period is characterized by lower humidity, less rainfall, and plenty of sunshine, making it ideal for sunbathing, snorkeling, and diving.

  • November to April: This is the peak tourist season, with perfect weather conditions for beach activities. The sea is calm, offering excellent visibility for underwater adventures.
  • May to October: Known as the monsoon season, this period sees more rain and stronger winds. However, it's also a time when the islands are less crowded, and resorts may offer lower rates.

For those seeking the ultimate beach vacation, timing your visit during the dry season ensures the most comfortable and enjoyable experience. However, if you're looking to avoid crowds and don't mind occasional showers, the off-peak months can also be a great time to explore the Maldives' natural beauty.
