Lankanfushi Island beach

Lankanfushi Beach is located on one of the picturesque tiny atolls of Male, the capital of the Maldives. The way to the island by speed motor boat takes no more than 10 minutes. A shuttle service has been established for Lankanfushi beach, so there are no difficulties with moving.

Like most beaches in the Maldives, Lankanfushi is covered with a dense layer of white sand, the texture of which resembles talc. Because the beach frames the island, it is surrounded on all sides by the waters of the Indian Ocean. The color of water at Lankanfushi is azure with silver tints and highlights. Entrance to the ocean is very gentle and shallow Lankanfushi is located in a natural lagoon, so there are no waves and strong tides on the island. In addition, this phenomenon favorably affects the temperature of the water, which rarely drops below 27 ° C.

Near the island is a coral reef, so marine life often swim near the beach, completely unafraid of people. Crystal clear water allows you to see underwater life even without a mask.

Maldives is a favorite place for honeymooners. Most visitors to Lankanfushi are young people under 40 years old. The vacation creed of this place is: “No shoes, no news.” It is worth noting that the Maldives are beautiful not only in the sun, but also with the onset of night. A fantastic starry sky hangs over the island as if Lankanfushi was the whole world.

For more than 20 years this beach has not changed, while remaining a well-groomed beach, meeting the standards of a comfortable stay. However, in 2019, the island suffered a severe fire, which forced a partial reconstruction of the beach and the resort as a whole. At the time of repair for a period of 8 months, access to the beach is limited.

Important: A large amount of plankton is collected in October and November off the coast, which is why the ocean takes on a slightly unclear hue. On the other side – plankton illuminates the sea at night, creating an indescribable picture. At this time, coastal waters are filled with stingrays – fabulously fascinating creatures that are in no way inferior to the dolphins.
