Luxurious villas above the turquoise waters of the lagoon and snow-white sand beaches have given him the glory of one of the best places for family and romantic vacations. Olhuveli is also known as one of the best resorts in the archipelago for kitesurfing and diving.

Beach description

Olhuveli is a rather long narrow island, the size of which is only 800 by 150 m. Luxurious villas in the shade of palm trees and white sands against the background of the turquoise surface of the lagoon create a peaceful atmosphere, a relaxing vacation in which is the main concept of this island. The resort was opened here in 1995, and in 2017 it underwent a complete renovation. Therefore, guests of Olhuveli will enjoy the maximum of modern comfort in the lap of pristine nature.

Among the main characteristics of this Maldivian resort are:

  • the presence of a sandy beach 1.5 km long with very fine sand;
  • clean sandy shallow entry into the water and significant shallow water offshore;
  • crystal clear waters of the lagoon ideal for diving;
  • the presence of a reef protecting the lagoon in just 50 meters from the beach;
  • secluded sandbanks and an uninhabited island next door.

Attractive beaches for relaxation and swimming are located on both sides of the island. Diving and snorkeling are especially popular here. On the edge of the reef you can swim close to huge turtles. The constant winds also contribute to kite surfing in Olhuveli.

When is the best time to go?

Maldives – is an equatorial country with a tropical climate, where the weather is always warm at + 27-30ºС. But the islands have some seasonal features. From mid-April to the end of October it often rains here. The dry season lasts from November till April. At this time, the initially clear sea becomes completely transparent, and the sun illuminates in the sky 12 hours a day.

Important: A large amount of plankton is collected in October and November off the coast, which is why the ocean takes on a slightly unclear hue. On the other side – plankton illuminates the sea at night, creating an indescribable picture. At this time, coastal waters are filled with stingrays – fabulously fascinating creatures that are in no way inferior to the dolphins.
