Thundufushi Island beach
The name of the island of Thundufushi in the Maldivian language (Divehi language) means "Point Island". As part of the atoll Alif Daal (South Ari), 30-40 years ago, this tiny island with an area of no more than 11 hectares was uninhabited, and now it is a luxury five-star resort offering the best conditions for diving and other water sports in the Maldives. Its beach area is a wide natural beach, spread on the banks of a beautiful lagoon.

Beach description
The coastline of Thundufushi Island is covered with soft white fine-grained sand. It has a gentle slope, which in combination with a sandy bottom makes the entrance to the water safe and convenient. A warm lagoon with clean and clear water is ideal for swimming and snorkeling.

The distance from Male to Thundufushi Island is about 99 km, the duration of the flight is 35-40 minutes. Another way to get to this paradise is by boat, but you should not use this type of transport to get from Male International Airport to the island, since the road will take several hours.
When is the best time to go?
Maldives – is an equatorial country with a tropical climate, where the weather is always warm at + 27-30ºС. But the islands have some seasonal features. From mid-April to the end of October it often rains here. The dry season lasts from November till April. At this time, the initially clear sea becomes completely transparent, and the sun illuminates in the sky 12 hours a day.
Important: A large amount of plankton is collected in October and November off the coast, which is why the ocean takes on a slightly unclear hue. On the other side – plankton illuminates the sea at night, creating an indescribable picture. At this time, coastal waters are filled with stingrays – fabulously fascinating creatures that are in no way inferior to the dolphins.
