Kuda Huraa Island beach

Welcome to Kuda Huraa Island, aptly named "small island" in the North Malé Atoll archipelago. Here, you'll discover a breathtaking fusion of authentic village charm and five-star luxury. Spanning five hectares and stretching 700 meters into the azure ocean, the island is a verdant tropical paradise. Nestled within this lush garden, our villas and bungalows offer secluded tranquility, shaded by the island's natural beauty.

Beach description

Welcome to Kuda Huraa, an island paradise where nearly a hundred overwater villas and bungalows await your arrival. Each bungalow boasts a private pool and beach access, ensuring an exclusive retreat. Surrounded by lush jungle, these houses offer an atmosphere of seclusion. However, be prepared for the occasional amusing intrusion of water kukula-chickens into your private haven.

As you explore the island, you may encounter small geckos and the symphony of noisy fruit bats as dusk approaches.

Merely 10 meters from your bungalow, the gentle surf of the Laccadive Sea caresses the white sands. The shallow beach provides a pleasant and safe swimming experience, shielded from waves and sharks by protective reefs. Thankfully, the menace of pesky insects is kept at bay, likely deterred by the meticulous fumigation carried out along the winding alleys at twilight.

For those who wish to remain connected to the ocean's embrace, our overwater villas are a dream come true. Among them, eight feature pools with transparent walls, blending the boundaries between the comforts of your villa and the warm, shallow waters of the ocean.

Kuda Huraa is dedicated to ensuring a comfortable stay for all guests, including our younger visitors. Children aged 4 to 12 are engaged in a variety of beach games, culinary master classes, snorkeling lessons, and traditional Maldivian crafts. Teenagers can explore the Furaavaru Center, where board and video games, as well as a cinema, provide endless entertainment. Upon arrival, the littlest guests are welcomed with a bathing kit and a set of diapers. The spa offers indulgent algae baths and massages for babies, along with babysitting services and a specialized children's menu at the restaurant. Accommodation for children under 12 is complimentary.

Adults can indulge in surfing, a range of water sports, and thrilling shark safaris. Although the spa is situated on a neighboring islet, it is a mere 2-minute swim away. Alternatively, guests can take a short ride on a traditional doni boat, outfitted with a cozy cabin on the deck.

At the spa, a sanctuary of tranquility awaits. Tired travelers can rejuvenate with aromatherapy, relaxing massages paired with yoga, and a selection of detoxification and recovery programs designed to impress even the most seasoned spa aficionados.

Discover the Ideal Time for Your Visit

The Maldives, with its idyllic beaches and crystal-clear waters, is a year-round destination, but the best time to visit for a beach vacation is during the dry season, which runs from November to April. This period is characterized by lower humidity, less rainfall, and plenty of sunshine, making it ideal for sunbathing, snorkeling, and diving.

  • November to April: This is the peak tourist season, with perfect weather conditions for beach activities. The sea is calm, offering excellent visibility for underwater adventures.
  • May to October: Known as the monsoon season, this period sees more rain and stronger winds. However, it's also a time when the islands are less crowded, and resorts may offer lower rates.

For those seeking the ultimate beach vacation, timing your visit during the dry season ensures the most comfortable and enjoyable experience. However, if you're looking to avoid crowds and don't mind occasional showers, the off-peak months can also be a great time to explore the Maldives' natural beauty.
