Medhufaru Island beach

The peculiarity of the Maldives is that most of its part is rented or owned by large resorts. Medhufaru Island is no exception. There is the resort complex on the island Soneva, which covers the territory of 5 Islands located in the lagoon. The villas, which are located right in the middle of the ocean, are connected to each other and other infrastructure facilities by wooden bridges. Their width even allows you to ride bicycles, which you can rent here.

There is no classic beach in the usual sense on the resort. But each villa is fitted with a full-size private pool and direct access to the sparkling lagoon. The bottom is shallow, smooth and sandy. You can swim without rubber shoes. It is absolutely safe. There are no waves in the lagoon, but if you want to do high-quality surfing, you can rent a yacht and swim to the site with a stable ocean surf.

The resort provides equal opportunities for young people, couples and even people with disabilities. The latter are provided with free wheelchairs. Villas for guests with children up to 7 years are fitted with free children's beds.

When is the best time to go?

Maldives – is an equatorial country with a tropical climate, where the weather is always warm at + 27-30ºС. But the islands have some seasonal features. From mid-April to the end of October it often rains here. The dry season lasts from November till April. At this time, the initially clear sea becomes completely transparent, and the sun illuminates in the sky 12 hours a day.

Important: A large amount of plankton is collected in October and November off the coast, which is why the ocean takes on a slightly unclear hue. On the other side – plankton illuminates the sea at night, creating an indescribable picture. At this time, coastal waters are filled with stingrays – fabulously fascinating creatures that are in no way inferior to the dolphins.
