However, the development of the tourism business in the Maldives has led to the fact that the uninhabited island has become one of the best resorts in the world. 78 million pounds were spent on equipping Muravandhu, and the skills of more than 900 top specialists were required to bring the first-class project to life. The resort is distinguished by original author's architecture using innovative technologies, which is why it is often called the architectural gem of the Maldives.

Beach description

Muravandhu is a tiny island in the form of a drop of water, the area of which does not exceed 9.7 hectares. This paradise is located in the Indian Ocean on the Raa Atoll in the northern part of the Maldives. Raa is the largest and deepest atoll in the world. In 2016, the coral reef that surrounds the island was slightly affected by the effects of El Niño, fluctuations in the water temperature in the upper layers of the ocean, but this did not affect the popularity of this place. You can get to Muravandhoo from the pier of Male, the capital of the Maldives, by motor boat, the journey takes 45 minutes.

Muravandhoo is bordered by snow-white soft sand surrounded by tall palm trees of tropical papaya. The endless turquoise ocean fascinates and falls in love with the first touch of a light breeze. Waves in this part of the Maldives, although not uncommon, are not very strong and high. Entry into the water is safe and shallow, despite the fact that the beach is located on the deepest atoll. Depth is rapidly increasing after several tens of meters from the beach.

Like most of the beaches on this island, Muravandhu is also popular among young people, although families with children are not uncommon guests in this part of the Maldives.

When is the best time to go?

Maldives – is an equatorial country with a tropical climate, where the weather is always warm at + 27-30ºС. But the islands have some seasonal features. From mid-April to the end of October it often rains here. The dry season lasts from November till April. At this time, the initially clear sea becomes completely transparent, and the sun illuminates in the sky 12 hours a day.

Important: A large amount of plankton is collected in October and November off the coast, which is why the ocean takes on a slightly unclear hue. On the other side – plankton illuminates the sea at night, creating an indescribable picture. At this time, coastal waters are filled with stingrays – fabulously fascinating creatures that are in no way inferior to the dolphins.

And just in a 20-minute boat ride from Muravandhoo is the home of sea turtles that peacefully interact with guests and swim with them.

Also, diving enthusiasts consider it a prerequisite for diving to take a selfie with an underwater sculpture, which has become a kind of resort property.
