Kudafolhudhoo Island beach

Kudafoludhoo Island is located in the northwestern part of Ari Atoll and has been open for tourists since 1985. It belongs to an Italian company, and the combination of elements of Mediterranean culture with local flavor gives it a special charm. The owners tried to keep Kudafoludhoo feeling of a tropical paradise untouched by civilization, therefore, unlike most Maldivian resorts, it more resembles a lovely village lost in the Indian Ocean. You can get to the island by seaplane from Male Airport, the transfer is chargeable, the journey takes about half an hour.

Beach description

Previously, Kudafoludhoo was used by locals to grow fruit trees and repair fishing boats, but now it covers a five-star resort hotel.Nika Island Resort. From a height, the island resembles a giant ramp, the tail of which is simultaneously a pier and a platform for observing exotic marine life. Immediately upon arrival, individual cozy lagoons are striking, into which the entire coastline is visually divided. This is the main highlight of the resort - all villas on the first line have their own beaches, surrounded by tropical greenery and create an atmosphere of privacy and solitude. The hotel also boasts water bungalows that rise right above the reef. And it is very picturesque and is located very close to the shore.

Diving enthusiasts can use flippers and masks for free, the hotel also took care of the rental of boards, boats, canoes and other attributes of an active beach holiday. A professional diving center has been organized on the territory, where depending on the level of training, you can either master the first basics of scuba diving or obtain international PADI certification. Lessons with children start from the age of 8, except for written parental permission no additional information is required.

Lovers of a more relaxed and measured beach holiday can enjoy peace and solitude in the shade of exotic palm trees, sip cocktails in the coastal bar, feed the fish from the pier or admire the multi-colored cockatoo, among which there are speakers. In some parts of the island rare sea turtles like to nest and, if you're lucky, you can see with their own eyes their newborn babies.

Once on the island, you should forget about shoes, jewelry and pathos evening dresses. The resort welcomes a democratic style, simple dresses, shorts and tunics, which makes it even more attractive in the eyes of residents of huge noisy megalopolises.

When is the best time to go?

Maldives – is an equatorial country with a tropical climate, where the weather is always warm at + 27-30ºС. But the islands have some seasonal features. From mid-April to the end of October it often rains here. The dry season lasts from November till April. At this time, the initially clear sea becomes completely transparent, and the sun illuminates in the sky 12 hours a day.

Important: A large amount of plankton is collected in October and November off the coast, which is why the ocean takes on a slightly unclear hue. On the other side – plankton illuminates the sea at night, creating an indescribable picture. At this time, coastal waters are filled with stingrays – fabulously fascinating creatures that are in no way inferior to the dolphins.
