The couple fell in love with the Maldives from their first acquaintance and, having visited many hotels and beaches of the archipelago, decided to create the resort of their dreams. Velaa Island is located in the northwestern part of the Maldivian archipelago on Nunu Atoll. From Male International Airport, the hotel can be reached in 45 minutes by seaplane or in 4 hours by yacht. Translated from the local language, the name of the resort means "Turtle Island." There are several reasons for this: firstly, the aerial view of the island really resembles a turtle in shape and architectural planning, and secondly, these marine animals live in this part of the Indian Ocean.
The territory of the island is small and has dimensions of 500 x 600 m. Tall, shady palm trees border the beach, giving it a natural appeal and picturesqueness. Like most of the beaches in the Maldives, Velaa is soft snow-white sands resembling talc. The sparkling turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean are predominantly the same temperature, which is in the range of 27-29 ° C all year round. Waves on this island are very rare, as are strong tides. Entering the water is very shallow and gentle with a nice sandy bottom. A little further from the beach in the water there are small stones and corals, but the perfect transparency of the water allows you to notice these obstacles from afar.

When is the best time to go?
Maldives – is an equatorial country with a tropical climate, where the weather is always warm at + 27-30ºС. But the islands have some seasonal features. From mid-April to the end of October it often rains here. The dry season lasts from November till April. At this time, the initially clear sea becomes completely transparent, and the sun illuminates in the sky 12 hours a day.
Important: A large amount of plankton is collected in October and November off the coast, which is why the ocean takes on a slightly unclear hue. On the other side – plankton illuminates the sea at night, creating an indescribable picture. At this time, coastal waters are filled with stingrays – fabulously fascinating creatures that are in no way inferior to the dolphins.

A lot of landscape designers, architects, interior designers and even athletes worked on the implementation of the project of this resort. So, there is a golf academy on the island that was developed by Jose Maria Olazabal, a famous Spanish golfer.
