Gardeno beach

This beach is located 40 km to the southwest away from the center of the island and 5 km away from Lefkimmi village. The public transport system isn't developed so the best way to come here is by car. Public transport rarely comes here, and there's a long walk from the stop.

Lush green surrounds this long sandy beach. The descent here is smooth and the waters shallow, so tourists with children and those who like solitude and calmness come here often.

Despite the distance from civilization and its relative "wilderness", equipment like umbrellas and deck chairs are available here. The Gardeno Beach also offers enjoyable fresh fish meals with vegetables in the local traditional Greek taverns. Those who want to relax and admire the beautiful views while drinking a glass of wine should visit the local bar.

When is the best time to go?

Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season  begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
