Almyros beach

This 2-km long beach, located in the north of Corfu between Acharavi and Lake Antinioti, kept the untouched picturesque nature of Greece and its hospitality offers an opportunity to enjoy the authenticity of the nature here to all visitors. Almyros is how Greek beaches looked like 100 years ago.

It's a wide, spacious beach with clean water where nothing will disturb you. Perfect to bring your children to. It's equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas belonging to nearby hotels. No one's paying attention to them though. You can take any one of them for free. But the "civilization" isn't as far as one would think: cozy taverns are separated from the beach by a row of plants. So you won't need to take bags of food with you, instead just try some skillfully made Greek meals in one of the local restaurants. Although setting up a picnic isn't a bad idea either (especially if you drove here in a car). Admiring the view of red sea sunset during dinner - what can be more romantic?

You can walk here from Acharavi, and if you're coming from the airport, you can take a bus, call a taxi or rent a car.

When is the best time to go?

Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season  begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
