Ermones beach
Ermones Beach (Odyssey beach) is a cozy and calm place on the northwest coast. Just what you need to take a break from the bustle of the city. This piece of paradise is even mentioned in ancient Greek myth, according to which an angry Poseidon threw the ship of Odysseus to the shore of Ermones. Now, due to the fact that two 5-star hotels and a golf course have been built on its shore, a larger percentage of holidaymakers there, are wealthy people.

This very clean beach surrounded by fantastical cliffs is covered in sand and pebbles. The cliffs guarantee calm weather: no high winds or waves can be encountered here. Quite a steep path leads to the beach itself. But those who walk it will be able to enjoy the fresh air of Ermones. The reason for such freshness might be the rocks, or the olive groves, nobody knows for sure...
This place is quite popular among tourists: there's always someone on the beach, but you can't really call it crowded. Just right for couples. If you can with children, please note that there are big and sharp stones near the shore. It's up to you to bring your child here or not, but wearing slippers is recommended for everyone. The descent is smooth, but the waters are quite deep. You can get here from Kerkyra by bus, a rented car or taxi.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing.
