Balos beach
It is located 55 kilometers from Chania, next to Cape Tigani, on Korikos Peninsula, at the extreme northwestern tip of Crete. There are waters of the three seas that wash the island converge.

Beach description
The Place is distinguished by the beauty of water, which has many shades. Water is clean, transparent, sand white, it contains small shells. The beach is suitable for children as it has a small shallow lagoon where the water is calm in any weather, even during a storm. However, it is not impossible to say that this area is one of the most difficult to reach in all Crete: there is no road to it, no buses run. If you are coming by private transport, you will find the nearest parking place a few kilometers from the beach. Therefore, it is more often visited by organized groups, which are sent on the ship to inspect the neighboring islands of Gramvus (which is considered a pirate refuge).
Ships depart from Kissamos port and stop at Balos for an hour, no more. The rest of the time is not crowded here. There are no settlements nearby, respectively there is no developed tourist infrastructure (cafes, restaurants, rental accessories for recreation, shops). It is recommended to bring everything up to the fresh water supply.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
