Rodakino beach

Rodakino is a community of several villages in the mountains on the south coast, which is located between Fragokastelo and Plakias. There is a bus from Rethymno twice a day. There are several beaches here, between Cape Stavros and Cape Kalogeros. You need to go down to them along the road that goes along the coast among olive groves and connects beaches and villages. There is also a tourist trail E4.

Beach description

Places are relatively wild, tourist infrastructure is developed badly, but beaches are not too crowded and suitable for a quiet rest. Korakas beach is the most famous among others. There is a rental of umbrellas, chair lounges, there are snack bars, bars, small hotels. The beach is sandy-pebble, the bottom is even, with a log in to the sea. The sea is clear, relatively cool and wavy in bad weather- the beach goes open

Libyan sea. Another beach of Polirisas (named after one of the community villages) is located a few kilometers west, where the road ends. It is sandy, with a smooth increase in depth, shallow, and also with a more calm sea. There is a small infrastructure for leisure travelers, including the hotel. It is better for children.

When is the best time to go?

Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season  begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
