Beach description
This place are very picturesque. Among the dunes of white sand are large stone boulders. Nearby, as the name suggests, is a cedar forest, where low southern species grow. Trees in summer are dry and vulnerable. Breaking the branch is not allowed, as is leaving the garbage. The beach is sandy. The bottom is flat, the depth increases gradually. The sea is shoaly, clean, calm. From strong wind the place is covered by mountains, but in the sea you can engage in windsurfing or kitesurfing.
Infrastructure is completely absent there. The nearest facilities, tavernas and hotels are located a few kilometers away by the lagoon of Elaphonisi, where there is also a beach with beautiful pink sand. As a rule, they live in tents, and lunch goes to the lagoon. But mountain paths in the dark are not recommended to walk. Recently the place has gained popularity and is not as deserted as before. For complete privacy, one of the small beaches nearby can be selected for parking.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
