Beach description
Kiani Aktoi is translated from Greek as Cote d'Azur, which speaks of the beauty of local waters. The sandy beach is wiped away for several kilometers. It is not covered by rocks and can be subjected to wave wave wave in bad weather. The bottom is flat, safe, and the depth is small, which makes the place convenient for recreation with children (there really rests many families). There are no tents or sunbathing. The water is colder in the center of the beach, where the Kilaris River flows into the sea, which flows from the Lefka-Ori mountain massif and does not dry up even in the dry season.
There is a tourist infrastructure on the beach: rent umbrellas and sun beds, snack bars. In addition, there is a rental of equipment for water sports and active recreation. In the ancient town of Calves there are hotels for any budget, taverns, restaurants, shops. Here you can see the old architecture, embankment, church, fort, monument to fallen soldiers, anti-aircraft gun of the Second World War. Altera archaeological park is worth noting from the nearest attractions.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
