Beach description
more than a kilometer long Beach is the longest in these mountain areas and quite wide. Because of its size, it never overflows. Coating- multi-caliber and multi-colored pebbles, from close to the sand to large stones. It is not too convenient to move or sunbathe barefoot without mat. The bottom descends very steeply, dangerous for swimming children without rescue means. Although the current is not strong here and the excitement is not strong.
the Beach is not equipped in a tourist sense, except for several umbrellas in the western part. There are no buildings nearby, but you can put a tent. All supplies should be taken with you. Almost all the territory of the beach is flourishing nudism: like many other wild beaches in Crete, this was once discovered by the hippies. There are many mini-hotels, taverns, shops and shops in the city, but there is no petrol station and pharmacy. If you are driving, you should take a reserve. From here the boat goes to the island of Gavdos. It is also recommended to visit the ruins of ancient Lissos, before which a couple of hours on the trail.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
