Geropotamos beach
The village of Lavris is located on the north coast, near Panormos, 20 kilometers east of Rethymnon on the highway E75. There are buses connecting the administrative centers of prefectures, so it is easy to get there by public transport, you can easily find a place by car.

Beach description
the small, pebble-type lake is a dried-up delta of the river that gave it its name. Water from the river is cool, and northern winds are catching waves. The landscape is flat, and the shore is relatively straight, so it is practically not covered from the wind. Maybe so people on the beach are not very much. But tourist infrastructure is well developed. There is a rental of accessories, a snack bar. In the village (it is on the other side of the river through which the bridge is transferred) there are many taverns and hotels, toilets, children's and sports grounds for playing mini-golf.
Natural attractions include a lake formed by the mouth of the river; the natural stone arch of Camara Geropotamos west of the beach; the picturesque Cape of Ljanos with the hotel and small bays where you can swim. Rare birds, marine mammals and other animals live along the sea shore and in the river valley.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
