Voulisma beach
It is located on the coastline of the Cretan Sea, near Istro, 12 kilometers from the large city and port of Agios Nikolaos. There are buses to Istro from there (the road takes 15-20 minutes). The beach is located in one of the many bays in the depths of the Mirabello Bay and is the largest and most beautiful in the area, as well as the most popular. The sandy beach is framed by low mountains and capes. The water is clear, turquoise; gently sloping bottom with normal depth, without shallows and pits. The water is usually clean, but storms sometimes bring rubbish.

You Can Go down the mountain by not very steep and long stairs. The view is very picturesque, the beach is not for nothing called Golden Sands (sand here is small and light). More free, but the eastern part is not equipped, the nudists rest there. On the rest of the part is always crowded, especially at the height of the season. So it's better to get ahead of time.
Infrastructure and smooth landscape allow you to rest safely with your children. There is a shower, a rescue station, a changing cabanas, a service for rolling beach accessories and renting water sports equipment. There is a bar beach here. There are several parking areas on top of the hotel and free municipal parking on the west side. There are also several taverns and hotels.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
