Amado beach

Amado is a kilometer-long area of sand that enters the natural park zone. A secluded and quiet beach, surrounded by bare cliffs, attracts both foreign and local tourists. Only a few come here exclusively for relaxation and sunbathing. The main visitors to Amado are adherents of extreme sports. Sea winds provide ideal conditions for riding on the waves all year round. In two surfing schools you can rent equipment and take courses aimed at beginners and pros, children and adults.

Lifeguards patrol the beach from June to September. Visitors can rent sunbeds equipped with wind protection. Non-professionals should better avoid this beach in the winter months: it is difficult to cope with the power of wind and waves at this time. Tt is premitted to come with dogs and camp in Amado. Small kiosks provide tourists with drinks and snacks. You can enjoy breathtaking views from nearby viewing platforms.

When is it better to go

The beach season in Portugal lasts from the beginning of June until September, when the air temperature reaches +30°C and the water temperature - +19°C. It should be remembered that the Atlantic Ocean does not warm up well and cools quickly, lovers of a more comfortable temperature can swim in natural stone pools, which are quite numerous on the coast.
