Beach description
Peneco is surrounded by massive sheer cliffs of yellow sandstone. From their peaks you can observe the delightful sunsets over the ocean. The beach sand is characterized by golden color and velvet softness. The water is clean and not too cold. Ecological safety on the resort is noted by international experts with the Blue Flag.
Vacationers with young children should know that large waves and strong courses can occur on Peneco. Keep in mind that the bottom becomes deep when entering the water very quickly. For the rest, Peneco is a wonderful holiday destination for both couples and romantic singles. No wonder that there is quite crowded in summer. Portuguese there are not less than visitors. But due to impressive size of the resort area, everyone has a place to relax.
When is it better to go
The beach season in Portugal lasts from the beginning of June until September, when the air temperature reaches +30°C and the water temperature - +19°C. It should be remembered that the Atlantic Ocean does not warm up well and cools quickly, lovers of a more comfortable temperature can swim in natural stone pools, which are quite numerous on the coast.

Entertainment
Peneco beach with its large waves is very popular among surfers. If you want to do other water activities, you can rent a jet ski or a banana boat at the nearby Pescadores beach. In summer, there is an inflatable water park for children in the water with slides.
The beach is ideal for pleasant walks. The road to the east of Peneco leads to Inatel beach, where you can collect shells at low tide. The promenade in the western part of Praia do Peneco ends with a cave known as the Grotto Chorino.
Panoramic views fans should at least once use the Elevador do Peneco at least once. Built in 2008, the beach Elevator is not only a convenient means of transportation, accommodating 13 people at a time. With a 28-meter height, it serves as an excellent observation deck.
