Beach description
Typically, Bordeira Beach is not overcrowded, attracting mainly young surfers and those who appreciate the rugged romance of the Atlantic Ocean. North and north-west winds create waves during the prime surfing hours, with heights ranging from 0.6 to 3.6 meters. The predominantly sandy bottom contributes to safer surfing conditions; however, novice surfers should adequately assess their abilities. It is important to be cautious, as there are rocky areas underwater in the middle of the beach.
From May to October, a bar and lifeguards are available at Bordeira Beach. The beachfront restaurant, perched above the rocky coast, welcomes guests all year round. Here, visitors can enjoy lunch and dinner with options such as freshly grilled fish. Ample parking is available, both atop a rocky hill and below, at the base of the hills.
