Nova beach
Nova is a large wild beach among the cliffs, which is adjacent to the beach of Senora da Rocha. You can’t rent a sun lounger or an umbrella here, but here it’s never as crowded as on neighboring stretches of the coast.

Beach description
The beaches of Nova and Senora da Rocha are connected by a tunnel in the rock. To get to the coast, you can use this option or go down to the water directly from the rocks, along a rather steep path. Descent has to be carried out from a height of several tens of meters, so the beach is not suitable for those who rest with small children.
Nova is longer (300 meters) than the neighboring Senora da Rocha beach and more windy. The water entry is comfortable, smooth. There is sand at the bottom, but stones are also found. The beach is not suitable for families with children, but is ideal for those who are looking for a quiet place on the southern coast of Portugal, allowing you to feel alone with nature. For a comfortable stay on the beach, you will need to bring everything you need to relax by the water or have a picnic on the beach rocks. There is no infrastructure on this stretch of ocean coast. You cannot rent beach or sports equipment here. Rescuers and doctors also do not work on this site.
Right above the beach there is a local attraction - Nossa Senhora da Rocha Chapel. The construction remained from the fortifications created here by the ancient Romans. There are also several hotels within walking distance.
When is it better to go
The beach season in Portugal lasts from the beginning of June until September, when the air temperature reaches +30°C and the water temperature - +19°C. It should be remembered that the Atlantic Ocean does not warm up well and cools quickly, lovers of a more comfortable temperature can swim in natural stone pools, which are quite numerous on the coast.
