Tres Irmaos beach

Tres Irmaos - one of the most photogenic beaches in the city of Portimão. It is famous for its stunning rock formations, many arches, and hidden caves, as well as amazing sunsets.

Beach description

The name of the resort area Tres Irmaos literally translates as “the beach of three brothers”. It was given in honor of the trinity of rock blocks lined up in a circle - the business card of Tres Irmaos. Water near the coastline has good visibility for snorkeling. You can also do kite and windsurfing on the beach, water skiing, diving.

Bathing should beware of turbulent currents. No matter how great the temptation to hide in the shadow of the cliffs is, you should not give in to it to avoid the risk of rock collapse. The rocky bottom also requires vigilance, while the white sand on the shore seems to have been created to walk barefoot on it.

The beach consists of four small bays, you can walk between them only at low tide. The place of pilgrimage for amateur enthusiasts is Prainha Bay, whose rocky formation is decorated with two arches.

Being a beach with the Blue Flag, Tres Irmaos has all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. There are several restaurants, hotels of different classes, lifeguards, rental loungers, toilets and showers.

When is it better to go

The beach season in Portugal lasts from the beginning of June until September, when the air temperature reaches +30°C and the water temperature - +19°C. It should be remembered that the Atlantic Ocean does not warm up well and cools quickly, lovers of a more comfortable temperature can swim in natural stone pools, which are quite numerous on the coast.
