Mindil beach

Myndil is a large sand beach on the beach Timor Sea. It is situated in a bay, so it is well-protected from winds and high waves. The bottom near the beach is sandy, the depth increase is gradual.

For the period from May to April, the city locals traditionally use this beach not only for swimming of surfing, but also as the sunset observation point. This event is so popular that you can buy VIP tickets in advance to have a possibility to appreciate the natural show with the maximal effect. After sunset, Mindil turns into a market with street food.

It;s easy to find hotels of different level close to the beach: Directly on the "first line", there is Skycity Darwin. Other hotels are located at a small distance from the beach.
