Seacliff beach

Sickliff is located in Holdfast Bay, in the suburbs of Adelaide. This is one of the most popular beaches in South Australia. It offers a cafe, an inexpensive hotel, several sports clubs, lifeguards, a shopping center to its guests.

Beach description

Seacliff starts inside the wide mountain plateau of Mario Rocks. Several hundred meters northwards, in the area of surfing clubs and yacht clubs, rock formations transfer into sand. From the south, parking lots for tourist vans and cars, and te boat descent are adjacent to it.

As a rule, waves along the beach do not exceed 0.5 m. Low tides and shallow waters allow considering it safe for children. Strong currents and waves up to 1 m high can form only near the rocks.

Seacliff is a perfect place for swimming, surfing, fishing, kayaking, picnics by the sea and observing beautiful sunsets. Its beach has numerous beach parks and reservations. The most of them have large grass areas equipped with BBQ kits, children's playgrounds, and public water closets. Special attention is paid to people with special needs. Walking frames, canes, wheelchairs, push wheelchairs, beach carpets and access ramps provide ocean access to them.

When is it better to go

The busiest swimming season in Australia lasts from December to February. In this summer, for the southern latitudes, the mainland heats up to 25-30 °C, in places up to 40 °C. In winter (June to August) the air is cooled down to 11 °C. May and September are considered the best beach months with a cloudless sky and not too active sun.
