Kraljičina beach

Queen beach (Kraljicina Plaza) is the most popular family holiday destination in Ning. This most extended beach, 17 km from Zadar, stretches from the south-eastern outskirts of Nina to the village of Sabunik in the north-west. The name is associated with many beautiful women who visit the beach, although the locals themselves call it "Ninsk Lagoon". Its main "highlight" is the presence of the largest mud spring in Croatia in the vicinity, which allows you to combine swimming in the sea with mud treatment procedures.

Beach description

The Queen's Beach is invariably among the most beautiful beaches not only in Croatia but also in the world. Its picturesque coastline is about 8 km long and completely covered with light golden sand. It is more like the typical Caribbean beaches than the Croatian coast, which is characterized by pebbles.

There are no pebbles or rock formations here, so bathing in these waters is safest. The attractiveness of this beach for a family holiday also gives a number of factors:

  • Fine water lagoon is well protected from winds and strong waves;
  • the entry into the water is very gentle, and it is necessary to sail 500 m from the shore to feel the depth increase;
  • here is very warm water that warms up better than the whole region;
  • Water here is high salinity, which combined with previous characteristics makes this beach the best place to teach kids to swim;
  • the coast offers stunning views of Mount Velebit;
  • Nearby is the country's largest area of healing mud (Peloid), where free spa treatments are available.

Since 1960 the beach has been a health resort, and its tranquil atmosphere of unity with nature attracts more and more tourists every year. The larger crowds of tourists can be seen in the middle of the beach. This is where families with babies usually stay. If you want to rest quietly, it is better to choose a place far away from the center of the beach.

There is a beautiful legend associated with this place. According to legend, here loved to rest the family of the first Croatian king, who named the coast after his favourite wife. Therefore, the beach also attracts lovers and romantics, especially with the beauty of the spectacular sunsets that can be seen on this coast.

When is the best time to go?

Although the summer in Croatia is hot (the temperature can rise up to 30 degrees), but thanks to the sea breezes it is very pleasant - the best time for a beach holiday. If you want to see the sights of this country rich in historical events, it is better to choose tours in spring or autumn: firstly, the weather is comfortable, and secondly, there are not so many tourists in these times of the year, which positively affects prices.
