Odaiba beach

Odaiba Beach is located in Tokyo, Japan, on the shores of Tokyo Bay, in the picturesque bay of the Pacific Ocean. Locals often call the Odaiba beach an entertaining island because of the many shopping centers and attractions nearby. Today, Odaiba Beach is a popular place for shopping and sightseeing, both among local residents and tourists.

Beach description

The 800-meter beach is located within the city, Odaiba was created artificially, but this did not stop attracting thousands of visitors annually. Swimming and fishing on the beach are forbidden. The fact is that the quality of the water in the bay does not reach the level necessary for swimming, according to the Japanese Ministry of the Environment. Therefore, Odaiba is an ideal place for walking, evening promenade, family vacations, playing football or frisbee. There are toilets and showers on the beach.

Odaiba Beach has become the center for various events: sports tournaments on the sand or in the water, volleyball, marathons, as well as sailing competitions. In July, the Matsuri Festival is held on the beach. Odaiba is an ideal place to watch the sunset against the backgrounds of the night city, with magnificent views of the Rainbow Bridge, the panorama of the city, Tokyo Tower and the reflection of the bright lights of shopping centers in the bay.

When is the best time to go?

If in the north of Japan, in Hokkaido, the weather in January-February is quite wintery, in the southern islands the temperature rarely drops below 20 degrees even in the cold season. In summer, the rainy season comes in Japan, when the humidity becomes almost one hundred percent, and the thermometer is at 30 to 40 degrees.   Therefore, the best time to travel to Japan – is late spring or early autumn.
