Yuigahama is a large family beach with calm waters and well-developed infrastructure. People come here to walk with pets, enjoy surfing, swimming or drinking a glass of cold beer.

The beach is located 70 km from Tokyo. It is has large area, soft sand of a dark cream color and a well-developed infrastructure. It is visited for the following vacation options:
- sunbathing;
- surfing and windsurfing;
- swimming;
- building sand castles;
- walking;
- walking pets near the sea.
On clear days, you can see Fuji, the largest mountain in Japan, from the local shore. Also, vacationers enjoy excellent views of the dense forest, green peaks, neighboring beaches and villages. Yuigahama has no vegetation. But in 100-meter distance, there is a cozy park with well-groomed bushes, lush grass and comfortable benches here. People take a break from the summer heat and have picnics.
The main contingent of the beach consists of local residents. They come to the beach at 6-7 a.m. to walk the dogs or catch the first wave. The largest number of people come at noon and in the afternoon. However, there is always free space in Yuigahama even on weekends.
The beach is characterized by calm waters (by Japanese standards), a gradual lowering of depth, clean sand, and a refreshing wind. Its main disadvantage is the large number of algae, mouldering ruins and sea shells on the shore.
Interesting fact: Yuigahama is featured on Slam Dunk, an animated series popular with fans of anime and oriental culture.
When is the best time to go?
If in the north of Japan, in Hokkaido, the weather in January-February is quite wintery, in the southern islands the temperature rarely drops below 20 degrees even in the cold season. In summer, the rainy season comes in Japan, when the humidity becomes almost one hundred percent, and the thermometer is at 30 to 40 degrees. Therefore, the best time to travel to Japan – is late spring or early autumn.
