Beach description
The beach of the Strogino Flood Plain is located on the right bank of the capital, in the Strogino area. It is part of the Moskvoretsky Natural and Historical Park and covers an area of 13.2 km². This place is popular among Muscovites for the following reasons:
- the cleanest air and water in the entire capital - in 2016-2017, the beach successfully passed a number of sanitary inspections. The richness of local flora and fauna attests its environmental friendliness: 300+ species of plants grow, more than 30 unique fish and animals live here;
- perfect state of infrastructure - work on the arrangement of the Strogino Flood Plain began only in 2015. There are no old furniture, battered buildings, dilapidated roads. All the amenities are absolutely new. In addition, they correspond to modern urban standards;
- a combination of sand, wood, greenery and paving stones - the surface of the beach is covered with soft sand that crunches when walking. Along the shore, wooden deck is installed in the best traditions of US embankments. Immediately after it, a promenade is paved, ideal for walking, jogging, walking with a stroller. They inspect river waters on a quarterly basis for the presence of dangerous parasites. Also, several rescue teams are working here, monitoring the water area on motor boats and watching tourists from stationary towers.
Strogino Flood Plain is positioned as a green zone for recreation. It is popular among swimmers, sunbathing, walking and jogging lovers. People come here to fry shashlik, do sports in the fresh air, admire ships from the shore of the bay, ride a skateboard, bicycle or scooter. The beach is filled with people at 8:30-9:00. It is especially overcrowded during weekends. If you want to enjoy the local beauties in a quiet and relaxing environment, come here in the early morning or after 7 pm on weekdays. Despite the large number of vacationers, the Strogino Flood Plain is maintained in perfect order. There is no garbage, destroyed infrastructure, overcrowded places. The green zone is constantly patrolled by law enforcement officials.
Interesting facts: Strogino backwater is an artificial reservoir. It was dug by the Gulag prisoners during the construction of the Moscow-Volga Channel. In the late 60s, this location became part of the city and turned into one of the favorite places for residents of the capital, despite the complete lack of infrastructure. From 2005 to 2013, it was planned to turn the local coast into an entertainment beach with large-scale infrastructure. But locals from the surrounding areas opposed large-scale construction in the Strogino Flood Plain and defended the status of the Green Zone.

The Strogino Flood Plain can be reached by the following transport:
- metro - get off at Strogino station and walk 2.5 km to the beach;
- metro and bus - get off at Strogino station and get to the public transport stop nearby. Transfer to bus number 310 or minibuses 358k/584k there;
- private car - get to the Leningradskoye highway, moving along the MKAD. After that you need to reach the Sokol metro station, turn onto Schukinskaya street, get to the Stroginsky bridge and get onto the Stroginskoye highway. The further route to the beach is indicated by the “Yacht Club Nord-West” sign.
You can also get to the Strogino Flood Plain on a different route, taking a taxi or private car.
