La Concha beach

La Concha is located on the coast of the bay of the same name, west of the Urumea River. The coastline of the beach is 1350 meters long and 40 meters wide. The beach is located in the center of San Sebastian, between the rocky ledge of Pico del Loro and the local fishing port. During high tides, the rocky ledge disappears underwater.

On the coast and bottom lies fine sand, the depth grows gradually. The beach is shallow, prone to tides. Concha means “shell”, the name of the beach was the shape of the bay in which the resort is located. On both sides of the beach are the mountains of Urgul and Igueldo. Rocks prevent the wind and the formation of high waves - the resort is protected from storms. Tourists here rest all year round, even in winter, when the water temperature is quite cool.
