Silencio beach

Silencio is one of the most beautiful and protected areas of Asturias. The beach name translates as "quiet", although the sea and pine trees are constantly noisy among the rocks and cliffs.

Beach description

Playa del Silencio is a very picturesque and wild stretch of coastline, located in a secluded small bay. The rocky ledges surround him, descending into the sea. The coast is covered with pebbles, the beach bottom is stony too. The water is very clean, but not good enough for snorkeling or diving, as it is rarely calm and transparent due to local currents.

There's often strong winds and waves here. There are tides on the beach, during which natural pools are formed in the cliffs, where you can observe the sea creatures.

The descent to the beach is laid out from the cliffs surrounding it, so it's pretty steep. There are never many vacationers on the coast, as swimming conditions are not good here, for water entering special shoes are needed.
