Peniscola beach
Peniscola is a small resort in the Castellon province, located on the Costa del Azahar coast between Valencia and Barcelona. It attracts crowds of tourists with its amazing beaches, historical monuments and special atmosphere, soaked with the aroma of orange trees.

Beach description
Two city beaches are located near the historical city center. The Playa de Norte Beach, 5,5 km long, stretches from the Papa Luna Castle to Benicarlo, the neighboring resort, along a promenade with restaurants, shops and entertainment establishments. Covered in grainy golden sand, Playa de Norte has a relatively smooth descent into water and even sandy sea bottom. The wave height is average here. The air temperature gets as high as 25 degrees Celsius during swimming season. Playa de Norte is equipped with showers, toilets and changing rooms. There's a rental store with umbrellas and sunbeds. You can also rent jet skis, canoe, boats for water skiing and parasailing. Playa de Norte is known for being very crowded. Many tourists from France, Germany, the United Kingdom and other parts of Spain come here.
The Playa Sur Beach, surrounded by the remains of an ancient fortress wall, is located a bit farther from Playa de Norte. This beach is always half-empty. A little amount of tourists can be encountered. A boat school, where visitors can take windsurfing, kayaking and rowing lessons, operates near Playa Sur. Solitary stony beaches Playa de la Petxina, Playa del Russo, Playa de las Viudas, where snorkeling enthusiasts love to visit, are located in Peniscola's outskirts.

When is it better to go
The beach season on the coast of Spain falls on the period from May to October. The water and air temperature reaches the most comfortable levels, thereby guaranteeing tourists a perfect vacation.
